How to add Library files to a project

Attach existing Library videos to a Studio project without deleting or duplicating the original asset.

Why add files to a project

A project can contain multiple source files. This is useful when you want to compare takes, create variants, or keep related clips together.

For example, an onboarding project might include:

  • a source recording of the setup flow
  • a shorter revised take
  • a baked output for the help center

Add from Library

In Studio, use Add from library in Project files. Choose the existing video you want to attach.

The file remains in Library and becomes available inside the current project. Attaching a file does not delete it from Library.

Select the active file

Click a Project file to make it the active source. Studio loads that file into the preview and timeline.

Each project file can carry its own editing state. Switching active files changes the active timeline context.

Remove a file from a project

Removing a Project file detaches it from the project. The Library asset remains available unless you delete it from Library separately.
