How to crop and frame your product demo
Focus the viewer on the important part of your product UI with Screenfly crop and device framing.
Why framing matters
Product interfaces can be dense. Crop helps viewers focus on the exact part of the UI that matters for the demo.
Use crop when:
- the recording includes too much empty space
- the important UI is small
- you captured a full screen but only need one area
- you want a cleaner launch or help-center asset
Turn on crop
In Studio preview, use the crop control to show the crop overlay. Drag the crop box to reposition it and use the handles to resize it.
The dark mask shows what will be excluded from the finished video.
Keep context
Do not crop so tightly that the viewer loses orientation. Keep enough surrounding UI to make the action understandable.
For onboarding videos, include the navigation element, page title, or button label when it helps the user map the video to the live product.
Device frames
If you want a more polished launch or social asset, choose a device frame before baking. Screenfly applies device frames during export.
