Troubleshooting browser recording permissions

Fix common issues with browser screen recording, share prompts, tab selection, and upload completion.

The share prompt did not appear

If the browser share prompt does not appear, try starting the recording again from Studio. Browser security rules usually require the prompt to be triggered by a user action.

Also check whether a popup blocker, browser permission setting, or unsupported browser is interfering.

The wrong tab or window was recorded

Stop the recording and start again. In the browser picker, choose the exact tab, window, or screen you want to capture.

For product demos, tab capture is usually the safest choice when the flow stays in one tab.

The recording stopped early

Check plan duration limits and browser stability. Free and Pro recordings are limited to 10 minutes.

Long captures can also be affected by device memory, browser performance, or network upload conditions.

Upload failed

If upload fails, Screenfly shows an error. Try again after checking network connection and storage quota.

If the browser moved you to the shared tab during capture, return to Screenfly to finish naming and saving the recording.
