Troubleshooting subtitles and audio capture
Fix common issues with Auto subtitles, dictation, Basic voiceover, and tab audio capture.
Auto subtitles are unavailable
Auto subtitles depend on browser speech recognition and access to the preview video's audio track.
If Auto is unavailable, use manual subtitles, subtitle file import, or per-row dictation where supported.
Auto subtitles cannot hear the video
Some video sources do not expose a usable audio track for browser transcription. Re-recording the video in the browser tab or importing subtitle text may be more reliable.
Dictation does not start
Dictation requires browser speech recognition support. If the browser does not support it, type the subtitle text manually or import a subtitle file.
Basic voiceover fails
Basic voiceover requires browser speech synthesis and tab audio capture. When prompted, choose the Screenfly tab and enable Share tab audio.
If the wrong tab is selected or tab audio is disabled, Screenfly may not be able to capture narration audio.
